The renowned Linecasters founders Fred Steynberg and Mario du Preez are R.E.F.F.I.S / THETA approved National and International guides, offering unparalleled fresh and salt water guiding adventures. Linecasters clients not only experience the thrill of the catch, but are also offered professional tutoring, adding immeasurable value to their fly fishing knowledge and experience. Linecasters is based in Rhodes and the surrounding area has literally 100’s of miles of river frontage to be rediscovered on more than 10 different river systems, including Barkly East and surrounding area, with species such as rainbow trout, brown trout and smallmouth yellow fish in abundance. Using a qualified guide is a wise choice, not only to familiarize oneself with the local conditions but also to walk away having learnt more about the sport.
Guides Mario du Preez and Fred Steynberg have recently established the only fly fishing guide accreditation course in Africa under the umbrella of R.E.F.F.I.S. U.K. and the course has consequently been approved by THETA. R.E.F.F.I.S. S.A. is at this stage the only legal way to qualify as a South African fly fishing guide.
